ESTATES AND ESTATE PLANNING:  Mr. Tomb has extensive experience with Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax and Federal Estate Tax.  In addition, he has worked with financial planners and other professionals to recommend and implement estate plans to minimize tax consequences and maximize distribution to beneficiaries.  He keeps abreast of the ever changing strategies to protect assets from Medicaid liens.  Issues that Mr. Tomb has successfully litigated include:  misappropriation of assets, removal of Executor, forged documents and abuse of confidential relationships.

COMMERCIAL/ BUSINESS LAW:  Over the 38 years of his professional career, Mr. Tomb has represented hundreds of small business and commercial enterprises in the following respects:  formation of corporations and LLCs; preparation of commercial agreements; collection of accounts receivables; breach of contract; and succession strategies.  Mr. Tomb has successfully litigated and obtained verdicts for: breach of contract, specific performance of contracts, tortuous interference with contracts, and eminent domain (representing both condemnee and condemnor). 

REAL ESTATE:  Mr. Tomb has represented buyers and sellers in thousands of residential and commercial real estate transactions.  He is an approved closing agent for mortgage closings through many financial institutions and insurance companies including Stewart Title Guaranty Company and Bankers Settlement Services of SWPA, LLC.

FAMILY LAW:  Mr. Tomb has extensive experience with family law issues including: divorce; equitable distribution of marital property; and child custody and relocation.  He has extensive litigation experience with child custody cases, including those involving psychological reports and recommendations.

MUNICIPAL LAW:   Mr. Tomb has served as solicitor for the following municipal clients: 
Indiana County Board of Commissioners;
Indiana County Industrial Development Authority;
Wheatfield Water Authority;
Highridge Water Authority;
Indiana County Redevelopment Authority; and
Indiana Area School District.            

EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE:  In addition to being the founding member of Tomb, Mack & Kauffman in 1993, since 1995 Mr. Tomb has served as President and CEO of H.A. Goal, Inc., a Pennsylvania Corporation involved with the production and development of natural gas fields in the Indiana County Region.  For six years he served as Chair of the Investment Committee for the Foundation for IUP and was Co-chair of the IUP $40 million dollar Gateway to Opportunities Capital Campaign.  In 1992, Governor Casey appointed Mr. Tomb to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts where he has continued to serve through the five succeeding Administrations.
